When I started Herbology Skincare, I set out to create a product that would not only heal the skin, it would inspire a shift in consciousness.
I wanted to awaken that part of ourselves that knows how to heal, how to receive love and how to create daily rituals that inspire peace.
When it comes to skin care, I believe in the power of Ritual. I believe in immersing your Beauty and Self-care routines in daily mindfulness, gratitude and plenty of luxurious, organic Botanicals.
I started this sweet little company at my home in Portland OR almost 5 years ago.
I had suffered from chronic skin dryness, hyperpigmentation, irritation (and the sensitivity that comes with it) for as long as I could remember. It felt like I had tried everything, and that every product I had ever used on my skin had become an irritant.
My skin craved to be cared for NATURALLY. It wanted healing hydration and nourishing oils together — without the addition of drying alcohols.
So I began by making customized skincare for myself. I developed my formulas using everything my own skin craved MOST: Frankincense, Myrrh, Avocado Butter, Jojoba oil, Roses, Vitamin C, Lavender, you name it. If it was healing and beneficial for the skin, I threw it in.
This recipe, after much tweakage and refinement, became Skin Food, my most powerful anti-aging nightcream for Dry/Mature skin types. It’s STILL my most popular moisturizer by far! And nothing makes me happier than sharing that healing formula with you.
As an herbalist and skin wellness advocate, I knew I wanted to create products that were:
• Honoring to Mother Earth
• Truly, powerfully healing for the skin
• Made with renewable & recyclable resources
In every decision I made as I ventured into this process, I held myself to these three tenets.
This is our foundation.
As the business moves forward and I continue to create new products and expand my creativity, knowledge and product line, I will continue to hold Herb & Myth to these principles.
Nowadays it’s hard for me to remember a day when I wasn’t caring for this beautiful and BUSY business. Herbology Skincare is like a second child to me. I’m so stoked every day to see this business grow and thrive and find its place among the skincare giants of the world.
